The Times, they are a-changin'

The Globe? What's next--the Post? The NYT? Are all dailies doomed? True, I only get the Sunday edition of the WP, as it's the only one I have time to read in full. I get the rest of my news fix online or on the radio.

Silver lining--better for the trees?

Still processing this one....

It is grim. Warren Buffett said he wouldn't pay a paper for any price … destined to lose. Makes me think that the tightropewalker and artist (younger male) I talked to two Saturdays ago about the need for tangible media (lamenting our magazine's loss, saying, well, just do it on really cheap paper then — unconvinced that a calendar is best online, that things change on a dime and print makes them fossilized …) may be "right" but can't afford to be.

But, hell, how can BOSTON, the little cradle of US democracy, not have a daily paper?

Deep breath … focus on keeping the watchdog nature of journalism (spj.org / ire.org) ON ON ON. Though, working nights with people who often have another job, as I do, and ergo extremely little time, has taught me that most of us are woefully disconnected and uninformed.

I haven't even had time to read Internet-provided news all spring.
